Job Title: Immigration Liaison Assistant

Main Purpose of Job


  • The British Deputy High Commission is looking to recruit an Immigration Liaison Assistant to work in the Risk & Liaison Overseas Network (RALON) office.

  • The Unit is part of the Home Office and provides intelligence and information support to the UK visa operation as well as being responsible for liaison and training airlines in Lagos.

  • The position is for an initial one year contract, and may be subject to renewal.

Roles and Responsibilities


  • The successful candidate will undertake a variety of tasks including researching trends in visa applications, dealing with passengers referred to the BDHC by airlines and checking application details against confidential databases. Duties will include:
    • Report writing

    • Creating and maintaining databases

    • Provide administrative support to Lagos RALON ILM/O’s on airport duties

    • Support ILM/O’s when providing training to external partners

    • Liaising with external partners and analysing information to identify trends.

    • Support Visa Services by providing timely information and intelligence to improve decision making quality.

    • Indentify and research cases that merit further investigation


Skills / Experience / Qualifications
Essential on arrival:


  • Be able to work quickly and accurately often under pressure.

  • Willingness to take on new and challenging tasks.

  • Good communication with excellent spoken and written English.

  • Computer literacy with accurate typing skills of at least 25 words per minute.

Primary Objective


  • The Senior Manager Corporate Sales will develop the Corporate Sales Plan to achieve the related revenue target for the channel, achieving optimal results to secure corporate contracts, increasing the numbers year on year.

  • Ensure that corporate sales strategies are profitable and position the company for long-term growth within the corporate channels.

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities


  • Develop and monitor the implementation of the corporate sales strategy in order to enhance existing and new revenue channels.

  • Achieve and exceed the set revenue targets for each financial year.

  • Ensure the sales and revenue opportunities are maximized by sourcing new corporate sales agreements that have a positive contribution towards revenue target set for the financial year.

Key Responsibilities
FFP Development and Delivery:


  • Review, revamp and develop the operational blueprint for Arik’s FFP scheme.

  • Manage the development of the FFP scheme’s benefits, features and rules, and continually improve these as required.

  • Plan the integration of all departmental operations to ensure an optimal return on resources.

  • Formulate the FFP scheme’s strategic plans for the short term and long term to fit in with the overall Commercial Strategy of Arik Air.

  • Communicate partnerships and attractive offers to members:

Person Specifications


  • University Graduate in a Marketing or Business-related field, studies in Loyalty/CRM desirable.

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role with an airline.

  • Extensive experience in building/revamping and managing an airline’s frequent flyer program or a travel-related loyalty program (or a credit card/ financial service loyalty card).

  • Hands on experience developing and implementing targeted offer strategies like a deep understanding of customer segmentations and life cycle marketing.

  • The purpose of this job is principally to provide legal advice and support to all Departments of the Company on a wide variety of corporate, commercial and aviation law related matters.

  • The job holder is required to advice the Management in order to safeguard the interest of Arik Air and to ensure that the rules and procedures of the Company are followed in all aspects of it activities, be it in procurement, HR, airline operations or corporate matters.

  • The post holder will have an overriding responsibility to ensure that Arik Air does not commit to any unfavorable obligations by providing legal advice and monitoring and controlling legal advice obtained from outside counsel.

  • The job holder has to ensure the well-being of Arik Air through compliance with national and international practices and needs to be able to represent and assert the Company’s position and requirements.

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities


  • Prepare and draft constitutive instrument of Arik Air and its subsidiaries as well as the internal regulations.

  • Organise and prepare agendas, as well as take minutes of board meetings and annual general meetings (AGMs);

  • Revise Contracts submitted to Arik Air for signature to ensure that they are legally acceptable and favourable to Arik Air.
